St. Eel – the show in the mirror – GIG TRAILER

Make what you want of the title, “St. Eel: The Show In The Mirror” is an upcoming independent art-music event which is being organised and curated by the notorious West Midlands band-leader and all round creator of substantial stimulus, Miles Perhower. “Sticky Toffee Dance Studio” in Digbeth (first left after the Custard Factory, then right onto Lower Trinity Street – you’ll see the big number 5) is the unlikely location for this eclectic feast of great live acts including: Perhower (ex-Miss Halliwell), Greg Bird & Flamingo Flame (ex-Sunset Cinema Club), Bombers, The Gruber and Jerk Test. Oh yes. Prepare to be stunned by an array of musical styles ranging from top-drawer-lyrically-infused-synth-punk, smooth future disco, primitive Black Country rock n roll, angular-Beefheartian-grunge and some blistering compositional mayhem, with elements so chaotic it requires a conductor. There will also be paintings dotted about the place, remnants of poems, mysterious objects, strange colour projections and of course, being a dance studio, lasers and a full length wall mirror. Perhower bassist and pint sized musical utility woman, Rose of Bearwood, will also be running the fully licensed independent bar for the evening. In short this is an opportunity for some genuinely creative people to take advantage of a totally different kind of musical event, breaking free from the irritating constraints of bog-standard venues and jaded promoters which are doing more harm than good in this post
